About

We keep water out of buildings that cannot afford to get wet

Texas Flood Fighters plans, prepares and deploys commercial flood-protection systems for facilities facing hurricane, river, storm and snowmelt flood risk.

What we are, precisely

Texas Flood Fighters is a commercial flood-protection company based in Spring, Texas. We assess flood risk at specific properties, write site-specific mitigation plans, supply and deploy water-filled barrier systems and pumping equipment, and hold facilities through storm and river events.

We are not a water-damage restoration company and not a general contractor. The distinction matters commercially: restoration is priced against damage that already happened, while our work is priced against damage that never does. A facility that engaged us before a hurricane and a facility that called a restoration firm after one are having two completely different conversations with their insurer.

Because flood risk is not confined to one state, neither is the work. From a Texas base we deploy into Gulf Coast and Florida hurricane environments, Mississippi River flooding and northern snowmelt events — where the mechanism differs but the requirement is identical: a barrier in the right place, anchored correctly, before the water arrives.

Where this came from

Two floods in the same house.

Sean Wirth bought a new house in 2014 from a well-known builder. It had not been built to the correct height and was not identified in the proper flood zone in the closing paperwork. In the Memorial Day floods in Houston in 2016 it took three to four inches of water throughout.

A year of rebuilding followed, spent working out why the house had flooded and what would stop it happening twice. In August 2017 the movers were booked to bring the saved items back downstairs on the weekend of 26–27 August — the weekend Hurricane Harvey drenched Houston with forty to sixty inches of rain.

Wirth called Darrell Ford and his crew. Within 24 hours they had bought and installed a first four-foot temporary levee. It was difficult to set, it worked to a point, and then it failed as the water kept rising. The house was mucked out and the rebuilding started again.

In 2017 the company changed systems, switched to Tiger Dam from U.S. Flood Control and became certified instructors. Since then Texas Flood Fighters has set up miles of Tiger Dam protecting critical businesses and high-value structures, with no flood failure of the kind that house suffered.

How we operate

Four things we do not compromise on

Protection, not remediation

Our work ends before a restoration contractor's begins. Every decision we make is judged by one question: did water get into the building?

Plans over improvisation

A barrier deployed to a written alignment goes up faster, holds better and costs less than one figured out in the rain. The plan is the product.

Honest mobilization windows

If we cannot reach a facility in time to protect it properly, we say so on the first call and tell you what can still be defended.

Commercial scale only

We work on facilities where a flood is a business-continuity event: institutions, hospitals, plants, distribution centers, utilities and municipal assets.

On claims

You will not find invented numbers on this site.

No fabricated square footage protected, no manufactured client logos, no certifications we cannot produce, no reviews we did not receive. The two certificates above are the manufacturer's own training records, shown as issued. The deployment case studies describe what the project photographs show, and each one lists separately the name, date or figure the client has not yet confirmed. Everything else is described in terms of what we actually do — which is verifiable, and more persuasive to the people who evaluate this work for a living.
